EWS 66006 Over Long Marton Viaduct on the S&C

This picture was taken on October 16 2004 and shows EWS 66006 southbound on the viaduct which crosses Trout Beck, a stream that feeds into the River Eden. Completed in 1874 and built entirely from red sandstone, quarried at Dufton Gill just a couple of miles away, the structure has five spans and is 108 yards long and stands 60 feet above the water.
