Massachusetts Coastal Railroad GP50 2008 comes off the Cape Cod Vertical Lift Railroad Bridge, in Bourne MA. with "The Trash Train" which runs between the Upper Cape Regional Transfer Station in Falmouth and the Southeastern Massachusetts Resource Recovery Facility in Rochester.
The bridge, which connects Cape Cod with the mainland was completed in 1935 by the Phoenix Bridge Company of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania and at the time was the longest vertical lift span bridge in the world. The bridge is now owned, managed and maintained by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
