66I24 crosses over the Coal Road which runs "over the tops" linking Garsdale Station with the Station at Dent. I love the BR "Station Overflow Car, which would indicate that passenger traffic had increased substantially since the early days of the line, when even at its peak it only averaged 500 passengers a day, spread over 6 or 7 daily trains with some 20 stations. If one does the mathematics this equates to less than 5 passengers for each local train. With an "all line" ticket cost of 1/4d the Midland were hardly going to get rich from local support.
