Last Hour of Daylight Sees EWS 56041 passing the Box at Elsham.
Before calling it a day and heading back home to Mirfield I decided to spend the last hour of daylight at Elsham. The photograph shows EWS 56041 passing over the crossing with an empty MGR returning to Immingham Dock.
The station at Elsham was opened by the Trent, Ancholm and Grimsby Railway in October 1866 and closed by British Rail on 3 October 1993. The remains of the station platform are still visible.
