3 BNSF Units with Mixed Merchandise, Tehachapi, California
A trio of GE C44-9W's with a Mixed Consist glide past the ruins of Tunnel number #4. The tunnel was damaged beyond repair during the 1952 earthquake so the engineers simply ran the tracks around it. The fault line that caused the 1952 earthquake was called the White Wolf Fault and it ran right through the center of the tunnel. If you look carefully you can actually see the fault running up the hillside above the 3rd loco.
