5 BNSF Eastbound Trains in the Viewfinder, Abo Canyon, New Mexico
There can not be many places in the USA, or anywhere in the world for that matter where you can capture 5 freight trains, all heading in the same direction, in a single photograph. (The fifth train is directly above the third train).
Motive power on this Eastbound Intermodal has #4197 on point with #628 and #859 supporting.
In June 2011 BNSF, after nearly 3 years of work and a cost of $85m created Double Track running through the canyon, but in 2002 this section of their New Mexico railroad was single tracked and Eastbound Intermodal trains had to shuffle up just like taxis.
