Mariners' Church
This is the Mariners' church in downtown Detroit. It was built in 1849 in the Gothic Revival style. Its original location was at the northwest corner of Woodward Avenue and Woodbridge. It was moved to its current location in 1955 to make room for the Civic Center plaza. It is built of limestone. It was immortalized in the song "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot in 1975.
