Proper School-Gingellville
This is just part of the historic Proper School in Orion Township. It was built in 1927 and originally was named after President Calvin Coolidge. However, the community, which was mostly of Democratic affiliation, was outraged at an action by the President. The school was renamed Proper School in honor of John and Charlotte Proper who had first settled the area in the 1840's.
