Letuario de membrillo / quince compote with Manchego cheese

I recently shot this photo for my blog, where I really wanted to convey a story... I hope I succeeded, at least partially. The combination of quince and cheese is very typical in Spain. Quinces are seasonal fruits that start to show up in the market just now and I wanted to give the photo an autumnal, homely mood, like if you were going to have an afternoon snack.
