1973 7Up UnCola "See The Light" - two hand made prototype booklets_Bill Bosworth & Tom Kamifuji

These two hand-made pop-up booklets just arrived and are in delicate condition (loose glue in places), but can be easily repaired. Some of the loose press-on black tape will be replaced - I used to use this stuff for presentations in architecture school in the '70's.

 

They came from a source in Pasadena, CA so my guess (& hope) is that these were Tom Kamifuji's attempts to further develop Bill Bosworth's original concept. Bill worked in-house for the J. Walter Thompson [advertising] Co. in Chicago that orchestrated the famous 7Up UnCola ad campaign, but didn't possess the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA) credentials for doing the final billboard artwork.

 

Tom, being based in San Francisco is also credited with being the inspiration for the rainbow in the early Apple Computer logo.
