1969 & 1971 7Up UnCola 21'x10' Billboard Museum Exhibit by Kim Whitesides, Milton Glaser & John Alcorn #7Upvintage

My collection includes 28 (and growing) of these giant colorful artworks (plus duplicates for sale) that IMO deserve to be the focus of, or part of a museum exhibit tying together the art, music, fashion and advertising of the late 1960's & early 1970's psychedelic, counter culture & anti-war movements. The 50th anniversary of "The UnCola", Man's 1st walk on the Moon and the Woodstock Festival will all be celebrated next year in 2019. Undoubtedly there will be a LOT of media hype about some of these topics.

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago curated a similar exhibition in 2014 built around David Bowie's music, wardrobe and other influencers:

- - - Museum executives are welcome to contact me about a loan of these super rare, frequently ONE-OF-A-KIND (or two-to-six-of-a-kind) advertising artifacts. - - -

Until some progressive museum steps up to the plate to curate an exhibit as described above, you can visit my 7Up UnCola Virtual Billboard Museum at the link below.

The background is from the newer Renzo Piano Pavilion of the Kimbell Art Museum in Ft. Worth, TX. Collages of three very real 21'x10' vintage paper billboards have been Photoshopped over the more traditional art in these galleries.

Left to Right: 21'x10' original unused billboard paper posters (duplicate originals all available on eBay).

Please do the right thing and contact me in advance if you wish to discuss the use or reuse of my images and provide a link to my originals. I would also ask that I be given a "first look" at any 7Up UnCola billboards or posters before you market them to the general public in return for my extensive investment in time, money and research, including interviewing some of the surviving artists. Thanks, and enjoy. - - -

If you like what you see, check out my 7Up UnCola billboard and poster offerings on eBay: www.ebay.com/usr/finishstrong312
