Cheonggyecheon stream - Seoul
Cheonggyecheon is a 5.8 km stream flowing west to east through downtown Seoul. This was originally a natural stream but was covered over during Korea's rapid post-war economic development and became a major road for many years.
Then in 2005, a massive urban renewal project on the site restored the stream and created a long, modern public recreation space that is popular with residents and tourists.
