Freezing Temperatures--The Death Knell To Pumpkins

Once the temps get below freezing, pumpkins, being mostly water, freeze solid, becoming hard as rocks. Then, if the temps should rise again, they that and start turning to mush. Either way, they are no longer decorations but impediments to civilization.
