after storm : would calmness return?
The thunderous storms have just invaded Calif sky with sizable downpour, whitewashing mountains, suffocating rivers, and partly drown the state reservoirs. And Californians cried in tears of joy. Indeed we luv storms here, any size. The drought is a constant cause for the state mayhem from water deprivation to wildfires in dry seasons. But we survive. Just not sure if the days after political storm would be the same.
In just barely a month short, post Capitol riot, Republicans in charge with incredibly short memory already reversed course embracing the wrong side of history for a calculated political gain in 2022. Just a month shy!!! As such the mayday inside Capitol, the brutal death of a police officer (perhaps 2), the planted bombs, a coup or BIG stain in US history don't mean a damn thing to them. Like T has said, "It is what it is." Despicable!
With the House minority leader suddenly flew to Mar Lago begged T for forgiveness of condemning him post riot, only to return to Washington and rewarded a violent shameful QAnon Representative with a seat in Education committee, after her remarks surfaced about the deadly Hook Elementary school shooting smearing it as a Democrats "false flag" cooked up hype. This is exactly T's playbook, rewarding falsehood and violence if one dares. But why all of a sudden? And then senator M.Rubio came out and swung in reverse too. With K.MaCarthy polishing T's shoes in wide public eye, M.R. is preening T's coat with flashing news his daughter would throw him off the Senate in 2022. And so was senator T.Cruz who now brushed aside the famous wife-bashing humiliation to ensure warming the hearts of T base (after taken part in citing the riot too). As well, the 911 mayor Giuliani who once said, "The rule is, you can protest all you want. ... The minute you break a window, you get arrested." But yet, he encouraged the Capitol protest in combat style. So is senator Hawley, crying the unfair cancel culture just b/c he owns a long string attached to the deadly riot. And the big names list goes on. They're even in process of purging those GOP opposing T, like Liz Cheney and others.
Politics is often dirty. I get that. But it just can't get any dirtier and disgraceful this time after the lives of lawmakers and VP came close to public hanging. And those are their own colleagues, work in the same chambers as they do everyday, and been thru hell that day just like they did too. But nah, long as the sky is clear after the storm, going right back to embracing the most shameful chapter of this country.
I was hoping for peace and unity, and exuberant of those possibilities. Sadly, the now T party doesn't believe in handshake and rebuild. Clearly, I'm just a fool who understands nothing nada about politics. As the storm has just gone, I must embrace for more. Any storm is detrimental in some way. But my only hope if by miracle the coming taken form of Calif climate, rather.
And mask up and staying safe everyone.
