"Sunday Gathering on the Prairie" 1906
Smith and Mort families,
near Swift Current, Saskatchewan
------------
Scanned by John Mack
Heritage Place Museum,
Lyn, Ontario
Photographed by Anson McNish (1878-1960)
------------
It was a great find when I opened up a cupboard
at the museum and found two photo albums from
Anson McNish.

------------
Well what caught my eye first off was the terribly poor design and construction of the cabin. Notice the seams all lined up in the center. Maybe this was once half this size and they built on and that is where the connection was made. But still. And they sure needed some black paper and strips on the outside. Man the wind must have blown right through that place. On a windy day, you wouldn't be able to light a candle.
