Middle Earth Handcrafted Ploughman Pavers are a brick shaped paver that has been crafted in the traditional centuries old techniques, Manufactured from a mixture of high iron content clays which after being shaped by wire cutting are fired at temperatures over 1100 C. With time the pavers will acquire a unique aged patina that will highlight the natural colours of the clay. Ploughman Pavers have individual colour and patterns making their own textures and designs and offer a unique effect, creating a lasting non-slip pavement. Clay being a natural
material provides a richness of colour which does not fade with time.
The ideal installation of Ploughman Pavers is installing on a mortar bed (this gives the best results). With this method any variation in paver thickness, can be easily adjusted. The joints can be up to 12mm wide and when grouted will not have growth (weeds) between the pavers as well as controlling ants nesting between joints.
