So much anger. So much hate. Not coming from myself, but being directed at me. I spent the afternoon scouring the town for the best possible composition for a sunset shot. Once I had found this spot, I quickly realized it was about the only place in the entire town to get a good shot.
So Gina and I walked about 50 feet down the street to a small restaurant and sat outside with a spritz to sip on. As we sat there for the next hour and a half, a series of Japanese photographers proceeded to venture up to "my" spot, which caused me great consternation. Fortunately, they would all leave.
As sunset approached, I was no longer willing to chance someone else scooping my spot. I walked back up, set myself up... and in less than 10 minutes every Japanese guy I'd seen, plus a few others walked back up. There were 6 of them in total all cramped to my right. The trees you can see on the right side of the shot are the trees that lined the narrow sidewalk. I was standing on the landing of the stairs that went down the cliffside to the hotel below. So each guy beside me had a (rapidly) progressively worse comp.
While I can only begin to imagine what they were saying about me (and yes, I'm 100% sure they were talking about me), the death stares I received were well worth having the best comp in town!
