Broken A/C Couture, Part 2
At 5:44 p.m. Sunday, the Weather Channel reported that the temperature in my area was 88F and felt like 96F. Our indoor thermostat read 90F. My studio thermometer read 93F.
Here I model a wetted towel on my head. An elastic band holds a blue cold pack securely to the back of my neck.
This actually lets me feel pretty comfortable. The wet towel provides evaporational cooling and helps concentrate the air from my table fan. The cold pack cools my blood and my head. One of two, this cold pack will go back in the freezer when it's no longer effective and I will strap its twin into place, rotating them as required.
ETA for our new A/C compressor is 11 a.m. tomorrow.
