My 1965 Ford Thunderbird - Nice Straight Body

Midcentury modern transportation – my fully restored 1965 Ford Thunderbird coupe.

Big 390 cubic inch engine provides lots of power. Automatic transmission, electronic ignition (added), tinted windows, factory A/C, leather interior, power front and rear disc brakes, power windows and power door locks. Kelsey Hayes style wire wheels with white wall tires. Heavy duty sway bars (front and rear) and gas shocks provide excellent handling. Tons of chrome, exterior is painted the Ford color of Wimbledon White. Features Ford’s “ Swing Away” steering wheel that swings over to the right side when the motor is off to allow for easier entry and exit into the driver’s seat. Wooden steering wheel with lots of chrome trim. Clock upgraded to quartz mechanism keeps perfect time. Also has the famous sequential turn signal in the rear: three lights blink in sequence pointing in the direction you’re preparing to turn (kind of like an old neon roadside sign.)

Photos were taken in Alviso, at the very southern tip of San Francisco Bay. An area known for bootlegging, prostitution, gambling and other wholesome activities during Prohibition. Nowadays the headquarters for the San Francisco Forty Niners football team are just a couple blocks away.
