Bristol Cathedral

Founded in 1140, Bristol Cathedral's façade has been mistaken for looking more Spanish than English as the rose window between Pearson's towers (you can just about see the other tower on the far right of the photo) is uncommon in English façades.

Rebuilding appears to have ceased for about a hundred years, then, in the mid 1400s, the transept and central tower were constructed.

Most of the medieval stonework is made from limestone taken from quarries from local areas.
