Lucky

Lucky update, Feb 20. Lucky is well over 100 pounds (since we feed him 4 to 5 cups of dry dog food, plus chop meat, vitamins, salmon oil and supplements a day). His coat is healthier, and he is filling out. We are happy to have him in our family

A women brought a full grown pyrenese to a shelter in Kentucky. He was 45 pounds. He should have been 120 pounds. She said he was left on her lawn and that if they gave her food, she would foster him.
Gentle Giants Inc of NJ heard about the starved Pyr and wanted to get him to NJ. But when the shelter staff went to find him, they were told he was given away.
The shelter staff person, Linda, wanted to find him. His story made the news. Someone came foward and told Linda the dog was not dropped on someone's lawn, the women that brought him to the shelter was the Pyr's owner.
After two weeks, Linda managed to get the Pyr back. He was in horrible shape. Gentle Giants still wanted him in NJ. Cate, a volunteer with Pilots for Paws stepped up, went to the shelter, got the Pyr and put him in her plane. He was flown to NJ and to Candi Bright of Gentle Giants Inc dog rescue.
She sat on the floor putting baby food in his mouth, getting him to eat.
She called him LUCKY.
That was August 2010. I met Lucky a few weeks ago. He is up to 90 pounds, still very thin. After a few minutes, I knew Lucky would fit in our home.
Candi told me that if it were anyone else, they would not have gotten him
I am honored to have Lucky in my home. He is peaceful and calm. He is a bit shy with me, but goes to JT readily.
I want to make my home the best for JT, Jake, Angel and Lucky.
Lucky does not hate people, though he has the right to....
We all have a lot to learn from Lucky!
Happy Holidays and a Healthy New Year from LUCKY!
