In the 19th century the works were occupied by Lockwood Brothers, cutlery and edge tool manufacturers who returned to a works in Spital Hill later in the century. CW Fletcher, silver forgers, came to the site in 1908, and remained until 1999. In 2005, the Ruskin Mill Educational Trust purchased the building. In 2008, Freeman College moved in to the redeveloped and refurbished buildings.
Beyond...Butcher's Wheel. Mainly 1820s with additions.
An integrated cutlery, edge tool and file making works for William and Samuel Butcher.
This Eyre Lane elevation of Butcher's Wheel was the first section of the works to be built, c1819-20.
