Faded figures depicting scenes from the life of Christ.

Bought privately by Canon homas Shine in 1920 and of unknown provenance.

Left - Christ's temptation in the Desert.

Right - The Transfiguration.

 

The first church was built in 1838 and became the cathedral of the new Roman Catholic diocese of Leeds in 1878. JH Eastwood was a founder member of the Guild of St Gregory & St Luke which was devoted to the improvement of church craftsmanship.
