For Augustus Henry, 6th Baron Vernon (1829-1883).

The east wing was designed as servants' quarters in a Neo-Jacobean style.
Right - Original Stable Block, dated 1664.
For George Vernon (c1635-1702), builder of the house & his wife Margaret.
Sudbury Hall was given to the National Trust in 1967, together with some estate buildings. The Vernon family retained the bulk of the estate which is administered from the Estate Office in the village. In the late 1960s the Vernon family had a new house built for themselves to the south west of the church.
