Perhaps the most notable transformation in the UK bus industry outside Greater Manchester in recent years has been in nearby Warrington, where an almost wholesale fleet renewal with battery-electric buses has been delivered, accompanied by a new depot to suit those vehicles. A yellow livery introduced with the Volvo BZL electric fleet furthers the impression of change.
Most of the BZLs are single-deck examples in a variety of lengths but there are also some double-deckers. As it the case with all BZL deliveries to the UK, MCV has supplied the bodywork. Here 2001 (BU25 YZB) is seen in Warrington town centre working a 16A journey to Dallam.
