Mercedes-Benz eCitaro in Basel
BVB in the Swiss city of Basel is a long-time operator of the Mercedes-Benz Citaro and has now moved onto the battery-electric eCitaro in both 12m rigid and 18m articulated form. The latter, at least, are opportunity charged and have equipment on the roof that raises to contact an overhead unit when laying over. Here bus 7113 has left the Kleinhuningen terminus, where two such units are present for a rapid boost of the batteries. It is working a 36 journey to Schifflande. These buses ride very nicely.
