Another Knotty in Newcastle
One of three distinctive route-specific brands to have debuted in the First Potteries fleet in 2019 was The Knotty. It has been applied to seven Scania OmniCitys that are used on the Hanley to Stafford 101 service. These buses have worked this route since they were new in 2006 and must have huge mileages on them now, but they are evidently set to remain there for some time yet... assuming they are not displaced by emission control regulations that mandate a higher Euro standard.
To complement the livery these buses also received a heavy refurbishment at the same time, which has restored them to a good condition. Here 65035 (YN06 WMG) has just crossed the border from Stoke-on-Trent into Newcastle-under-Lyme with a Stafford-bound service.
