Arriva Nederland electric VDL Citea
Arriva's Nederland subsidiary in Holland has a fleet of around 50 electric buses, including some VDL Citeas. Each of the VDLs has a pantograph on the roof for opportunity charging and they carry this not unattractive blue variant of the outgoing Arriva corporate scheme. They operate in Venlo, on the German border, but here one is seen among some interesting post-industrial scenery in Eindhoven. All of the buildings around here were formerly Philips factories, but now they have been redeveloped into a public transport-friendly area of hotels, offices and the like, with a railway station nearby and very good bus rapid transit links.
There is perhaps a lesson for the UK in there somewhere.
