This lithograph of Lichfield Cathedral's Western doorway was engraved by Robert S. Groom and based on an original drawing by I. Shaw. The lithograph was published by T.G. Lomax of Lichfield and printed by C. Moody in the mid-19th Century.
The scene depicts the ornate Western doorway of Lichfield Cathedral, set within a porch. This porch is lined with statues of the Virgin Mary, Mary of Clopas and St Peter, beneath a statue of Christ.
The open left door reveals a glimpse of the archwayed interior of the Cathedral.
