45 005's boiler is certainly working, as it waits departure from platform 21 at Edinburgh Waverley with 1E28, the 0835 Glasgow Queen Street - Scarborough, on Saturday 26 May 1984. This train was booked to change loco at Waverley, and I had had 37 175 on it out of Queen Street that morning.
