Khausak - Del Mar Fair 2008
Khausak is an instrumental musical group from Ecuador bringing the folkloric sounds of South America. The Khausak musical members’ heritage is infuse with Inca's roots from the Ecuadorian Andes. Khausak members play typical folkloric musical instruments from the Andes regions creating transcendental sounds elevating the listeners' spirits to a stage of nirvana. The musical instruments are an extension of themselves and each of its members creates their own melody intertwining the high and the pitch of great variety of tones entrapping the listener to a different estate of mind making him/her forget and dream . . . and dream . . . and dream!
Khausak Musical Group members: Manuel Morocho (Mashi), Diego Morocho (Ahutachy), Jesus Morocho (Rumisitu), Inti Morocho (Inty), Manuel Aguagallo (Yuyae), Wilson Gualan (Kuyaisitu).
Khausak Music Group plays Traditional Andean Music concerts around San Diego and its surroundings. You can see them playing at the Seaport Village in downtown San Diego Harbor. Or see them around one of the many San Diego Street Fairs such Hillcrest Street Fair, Encinitas HWY 101 Street Fair. Other times during various holydays celebrations such as “Cinco de Mayo at Old Town,” “Balboa Park December Nights also known as Christmas (Xmas) at the Prado,” Carlsbad by the Sea. Members of the group get commission to play outside San Diego area and they travel as far as El Indio Tamales Festival (Highway 111 and Indio Boulevard), Pomona - L.A. County Fair (Plaza de Las Americas Stage), Fresno Fairgrounds – The Big Fresno Fair – (Grounds Entertainment) and even in Yuma Arizona at the “Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area.”
