A friend and I visited a rocky prairie on what started as a cool, cloudy day and eventually became sunny. As a result of the sun coming out, several of these lizards were observed thermoregulating under rocks alongside the road. Ornate Box Turtles and a ratsnake were also found under cover. After a few shots taken of this one, I lowered the camera and saw that the skink had slipped back under it's rock for cover, and I let it be.
