The State of New Jersey ordered 35 Arrow I MUs for high speed Penn Central Northeast Corridor service between New York and Trenton in 1966 from St. Louis and delivered in 1968. These units (100-134) were removed from service in 1980 and rebuilt as Comet I-B push-pull units in 1987-1988 as 5155-5169 (cab) and 5220-5234 (trailer). 14 units were rebuilt as coaches for Caltrans in 2013-2014.
