1980 Chevrolet Malibu Wagon
Downsized A-body (RWD) intermediate Malibu wagons came in standard trim and the Classic package for 1980, the latter adding a hood ornament, rocker panel moldings, added sound insulation and ashtray and glove box lights. The Classic was also smaller inside slightly than the base wagon (71.8 vs. 72.4 cubic feet in EPA cargo volume index).
This is a standard trim wagon. The 3.8 liter V6 (229) with 115 HP was standard, except for the 231 block standard in California at 110 HP. Standard Malibu wagons started at $5,778 ($80 more for V8) and Classic wagons $6,035 (plus $80 for V8). 30,794 Malibu wagons were built in the 1980 model year, plus another 35,730 with the Classic package.
