1978 Chevrolet Malibu
The new (A-body RWD) Malibu was introduced for the 1978 model year and like Ford's new Fox platform Fairmont and Mercury Zephyr, were "new size" downsized intermediates with comparable interior room to their predecessors (the 1964-1977 Chevelle and Torino/LTD II respectively). The Malibu offered 4-door sedans, coupes and wagons. In addition to improved passenger room, cargo volume on sedans and coupes increased.
