Range Rover Sport - 2005

Previewed in 2004 by the 3-door concept 'Range Stormer', the Range Rover Sport was released in 2005.

Built from a modified Land Rover Discovery 3 platform, the Sport aimed to provide a more attainable Range Rover - what actually occured was the creation of the 'must-have' vehicle for footballers and their WAGs.

Capable off-road, but with a clear focus on on-road performance and luxury, the Sport had many of the Ford Motor Company PAG powertrains installed: Diesels of 2.7 and later 3.o litres, a naturally aspirated V8 of 4.4, then 5.0 litres, and headlining the range a 4.4, then 5.0 litre Supercharged V8.

Every system in the car was designed to offer the 'premium' experience -transforming the Land Rover brand into the must-have 21st Century automotive statement.

This lego model has been created for Flickr LUGNuts 60th Build Challenge, our 5th birthday, to the 21st Build Challenge theme, - 'Millenium Marvels', - celebrating vehicles produced in the 21st Century.

The model features body-on-fram construction, lego vee-piston engine, rear-wheel-drive, and independent rear suspension. The body features four doors, and opening bonnet (hood).
