100_6768 Bad news about Bailey.

I hate to be have to report this after such nice birthday wishes for Jake and Bailey today, but I just got home from the vet about an hour ago.

Bailey has a very high creatinine level, and blood in his urine. No infection.

Prob. the beginning of renal disease/failure.

The vet said this with an 11 yr. old cat is "not normal.. but not unusual."

 

His blood results are not in yet.

I have to bring him back to the vet tomorrow, for a blood pressure test and to get a renal diet and electrolytes.

 

Over the past 2 days Bailey has not "been himself." He has been very tense, hiding, under my bed and not wanting to play or be touched (He has been eating, however)

 

I didn't know if his recent tail snapping and bad mood, and spraying was due to his OCD. Obsessive compulsive disorder, witch he is on medication for.

He was examined and had blood test prior to his dental cleaning in Dec.

Everything was normal at that time.

 

Maybe his spraying over the past year, was due to this. I feel terrible, if it was physical and not just psychological.
