came home from a practice. i sing (i try to) in church. in the middle of the practice, they started talking in "letters" and the minors and the majors. i wish reading notes is as easy as learning the alphabet.

 

making music is only for talented people. there are really some of us that are just born that way. and when something is taken away from us, intellectual property to be specific, we can't help but sue. for joe satriani, at least.

 

this shot goes out to him. i feel bad for him. satch (as his fans call him, i've always called him by his whole name) sued coldplay for copying a substantial part of his composition "if i could fly." if you've heard the coldplay's "viva la vida" you'll hear that there's such a huge similarity.

 

now, i'm no beethoven but for someone who loves music, you can pretty much decipher how much the two songs sound so much alike. my brother and i were so pissed. we loved coldplay but we loved the virtuoso more. argh. i hope he gets a proper and much deserved settlement.

 

my brother who worships steve vai, introduced me to joe satriani's world. i liked him more than steve vai because he looked more manly. haha. my favorite JS songs are "starry night," and "always with me, always with you."

 

took the song sheets from bro's pile. he's game enough when i told him that i'll crumple them. which then led to burning them. heehee.
