3008 - Madhangeeswarar temple, Kanchipuram
Madhangeeswarar Temple at Kanchipuram is one of the earliest Pallava period temple. It is said that it was built by Nandhi Varma. The presiding deity is Madhangeeswarar and behind the idol, there is a beautiful sculpture of Uma Maheswarar. It has eight lion pillars made of single stones.It is located south of Vaikunda Perumal temple . This monumental temple is protected and maintained by ASI.
