The AAR was a model designed to let Plymouth take part in the Trans Am road racing series, which was big money in the late 60s and early 70s,
AAR means All American Racing, after the Trans Am racing team with the same name.
The AAR 'Cuda was produced, powered by the 340 cu in (5.6 L) "Six Pack" (three two-barrel carburetors) engine with 290 hp.
The 340 Six Pack could accelerate the ‘Cuda 0-60 miles per hour in 5.8 seconds, 0-100 miles per hour in 14.4 seconds, and race a quarter mile in 14.4 seconds at 100 miles per hour.
The racing AAR `Cudas used a 5 litre version of the 340 engine, to comply with the 5 litre limit in the Trans Am racing series.
The AAR `Cuda and it`s sibling the Challenger T/A are today 2 of the most revered and sought after Mopar muscle cars.
