Wheeling & Lake Erie unit number 4000 was behind the Ohio Central Railroad System loco as it was headed through Harrison County, April 9th. The W&LE unit is a former CN/GTW SD40 5920. Unit purchased by W&LE from CN in July 2003. Unit initially retained its CN red, white and black paint, with new roadnumber painted in white on the cab side and long hood end. This locomotive was later rebuilt by the W&LE with microprocessor control and outshopped in September 2008. During the rebuild, unit received black paint with orange frame stripe, orange "V" striping on the front of the low short hood, as well as orange road numbers on the cab sides and the rear of the long hood. Orange Wheeling & Lake Erie lettering was painted below the cab on each side. Unit does not have dynamic braking.
