I visited the very small commune of Rocca Sinibalda. My light conditions in late October were much less favorable than those encountered by Paola but I was still fascinated by the extremely photogenic edifice and the surrounding countryside.
This fortress was originally built in the 11th century and was transformed into a comfortable fortified palace five centuries later.
Thorough excellent restoration work, completed in spring 2014, was carried out during the last seven years.
