City of Wells Rests

As part of the Steam Weekend. The load was shared by The City of Wells. Designed by Bulleid in 1949, it is known as the last of the Big Locomotives. It is one of those classes that has divided enthusiasts. A love/Hate relationship. It has The Golden Arrow regalia as this train did work on the London- Dover -France Steamboat runs. Also known as the Battle of Britain Class, it also included other trains such as 66 Squadron which was the last one built. Notoriously difficult to fire it wasn't the easiest of engines and was quite temperamental.
