The Gothic Cottage - Town Hall - Cazenovia
Town Hall - The Gothic Cottage - This beautiful cottage was built in 1847 by Jacob Ten Eyck after the style of A.J. Davis. The high pitched gables, boards and batten siding and extreme use of decorative bargeboards about the gables and porches make this home a fine example of Gothic Revival residential architecture. For much of its existence it was a private residence. However, in 1964 plans were being made to demolish it in favor of a parking lot. Fortunately, a determined effort by local citizens resulted in the cottage being purchased and renovated by the town, where it now serves as the Cazenovia Town Hall. Located at 7 Albany Street in Cazenovia. NY. (Caz 16)
