This Victorian Evening Gown was worn by Mrs. (Sarah) Roswell P. Flower at the White House in 1883. Made by M. A. Connelly of NYC. It is a two piece satin brocaded and velvet evening gown - with a satin paneled front skirt -- wide pleats and inserts of pink satin with pearls and crystal beads and a velvet jacket trimmed with fringe. The gown is on display in the Back Gallery, on the first floor, of the Paddock Mansion. The mansion is part of the Jefferson County Historical Society located at 228 Washington Street in Watertown, NY.
