Carroll Earll Smith House / Trinity Parish House

Another view of this great Victorian house. Built - 1871. It sits directly behind the old Trinity Episcopal Church and as it turns out it was the Trinity Parish House. The structure was moved to this site to make room for the church building. The picturesquely massed frame house was built by Reuben Porter for local newspaperman Carroll Earll Smith. The multicolored tile roof with an elaborate ornate cornice, pointed-arch openings and Eastlake detailing distinguish the building. When the church was built Trinity Episcopal Church bought the building for use as a parish house. It looks as if additions were added on behind the house. The site is now owned by the Faith By Love Church. Located at 523 West Onondaga Street in Syracuse, NY. (behind the church building). (271)
