Genesee Country Museum - Pioneer Farmstead - Log House

View of the side of the Log House on the Pioneer Farmstead, where you can see the portion of the wall which was made of solid stone masonry, to provide a fireproof back for the hearth. This type of masonry was a characteristic of other early log homes in the Genesee Country. The wooden chimney was clay-lined. Located in the Pioneer Settlement section at the Genesee Country Village & Museum, 1410 Flint Hill Road (George Street) in Mumford, NY.
