Genesee Country Museum - Hamilton House
This framed weaving, made from human hair, is hanging on the wall in the first floor foyer, at the Hamilton House. Before people exchanged photos, the gathering of hair from friends and relatives was a common practice. The strands were woven together and displayed as a kind of permanent memory and as a memorial to one's loved ones. The Hamilton House is located in the Turn of the Century section at the Genesee Country Village & Museum, 1410 Flint Hill Road (George Street) in Mumford, NY.
