W. Oneida Street - Oswego, NY

Another view of this three-story Georgian Revival home which traces back to one of Oswego's most prominent early citizens, Thomas Kingsford, owner of the Oswego Starch Factory. After Kingsfords death in 1869, his son Thomson, took control of the business. In 1898, Thomson's daughter Virginia and her husband John D. Higgins, commissioned Rochester-based architect Claude Bragdon, to design this house, which would be constructed next door to her father's mansion. Several existing homes on the land were moved to make way for the Higgin's new home. The house stayed in the Kingston family until 1969. The house's fourth owners are presently selling the house. Located at 40 W. Oneida Street in Oswego, NY. (O3/104)
