Oswego Canal - Oswego River
This wintery snowy shot was taken near the walkway across the river near Water Street in Oswego,NY. Looking across the Oswego River you will see Lock 8 of the Oswego Barge Canal in the distance. The tunnel configurations you see across the river in the wall were used when Lock 8 was a siphon lock. The lock was rebuilt in the 1960's with the siphon system taken out and the more traditional workings were modified to accommodate the structures differences in the concrete walls.
